Southern Downs Regional Council is undertaking remedy works to bring renewed purpose to the Weeroona Park fountain.
When will this work take place?
Works will occur from Tuesday 27 January 2026 and will take up to four weeks to complete, weather and site conditions permitting.
Activity will occur on site from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
What will this work include?
We will be installing a new submersible waterspout in the upper fountain basin and modifying the ground-level catchment basin into a garden bed.
As part of these works, we will:
- Complete minor paint repair works.
- Modify the ground level basin into a garden.
- Install a new water feature to the upper basin.
- Undertake electrical repairs and upgrades.
- Repair, clean and restore the brick surround.
- Install new uplighting within the garden bed.
- Restore the existing commemorative Ferris brass plaque.
What does this mean for me?
If you are visiting or travelling through Weeroona Park, you may notice:
- an increased presence of workers and work vehicles within the park.
- increased levels of noise and dust associated with construction.
- temporary fencing and signage installed around the fountain.
For your safety, please ensure you follow the direction of all onsite signage and workers when travelling through the area. We appreciate your patience while we complete these important works.
